International Staff Week
INTERNATIONAL STAFF WEEK 2026
We are pleased to announce that the date for our International Staff Week has been set. The event is organised in cooperation with OTH Amberg-Weiden in Germany, and newly also the Lodz University of Technology in Poland.
The International Offices of all three institutions invite staff members from our partner and non-partner universities to apply for the International Staff Week, which will take place at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and at two campuses of OTH Amberg-Weiden.
Dates: 20–24 April 2026, with two virtual components (27 March and 13 April)
Maximum number of participants: 30 (maximum of 2 staff members per institution)
Registration fee: none
Participants are responsible for covering their own travel and accommodation costs. For participation in the International Staff Week, we recommend using the Erasmus+ Staff Training grant provided by the home institution.
The entire programme will be in English.

Previous Editions of Staff Week
CZECH-GERMAN ISW 2025
The University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, in cooperation with OTH Amberg-Weiden, successfully hosted the fifth Czech-German Staff Week.
In the first week of June, the programme welcomed over 25 participants representing 8 European universities from 6 countries. This year’s theme, “Mindful Internationalisation and Inclusion,” highlighted the importance of conscious, sustainable, and sensitive approaches to internationalisation within higher education.
The programme featured interactive workshops, discussions, the exchange of best practices, and informal networking opportunities. Participants also explored key topics such as well-being, mental health, and support for the diverse needs of both students and staff.

CZECH-GERMAN ISW 2024
The University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (UWB), in cooperation with OTH Amberg-Weiden, organized the fourth Czech-German Staff Week.
From June 3rd to 7th, the International Office at UWB, in collaboration with the German university OTH Amberg-Weiden, held the fourth Czech-German Staff Week. A diverse program was prepared for the participants, including three days at UWB in Pilsen and two days at OTH Amberg-Weiden in Germany. The theme of the Staff Week was "Think Positive: Current Issues in Internationalization – Critical Incidents, International Student Integration, and BIP's."
The event was attended by 18 representatives from 12 European universities and 8 different countries. Representatives from both partner universities and new potential partners participated.

CZECH-GERMAN ISW 2023
The University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (UWB) and OTH Amberg-Weiden jointly organized the third Czech-German Staff Week.
From May 22 to May 26, the UWB International Office, together with the German OTH Amberg-Weiden, hosted the third Czech-German Staff Week, this year under the theme "Think Positive: Challenges for the Future." A diverse program was prepared for the participants, including three days at UWB in Plzeň and two days in Germany. Employees from partner universities such as Université de Limoges (France), Cukurova University (Turkey), and Università di Catania (Italy) attended this year's Staff Week, along with new potential partners, such as ECAM Rennes (France) and the University of Jyväskylä (Finland).
