Interstud Scholarship Support

The main aim of the INTERSTUD project is to provide talented foreign students with quality education together with financial support in the form of scholarship.  The project focuses mainly on students from socioeconomically disadvantaged environment and students with special needs who will receive special scholarships during the standard period of their studies. This scholarship support is intended for students who will apply for a full time study programme taught in the Czech language.  The project is open to applicants from all over the world.

The project is included in the institutional plan of UWB to support international cooperation in higher education.

General conditions for inclusion in the Interstud scholarship project

To apply for Interstud scholarship support, you must meet the following requirements:

  • It must be your first admission to a bachelor's or follow-up master's (or master's) program at one of the faculties participating in the project.
  • The studies must be in the Czech language.
  • You must prove excellent academic results.
  • Submission of a document (certificate) proving proficiency in the Czech language at a level sufficient for admission to study (usually at least level B1), or other proof of knowledge of the Czech language (entrance exam, etc.).
  • Officially certified document confirming entitlement to social support or an expert report from a diagnostic examination, or another document confirming a socio-economically disadvantaged environment or specific needs.

INTERSTUD scholarships are only intended for students who apply for an entire study program (bachelor's or master's) taught in Czech at one of the faculties participating in the project.t:

  • Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
  • Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art

Applicants are subject to the admission requirements announced by the specific Faculty.

Student nominations for the Interstud scholarship

From the academic year 2025/26, students will be nominated for the INTERSTUD project through the individual faculties involved in the project. 

Those interested in joining the Interstud project must first fill out an e-application to study at the University of West Bohemia and pay the administrative fee connected with the admission procedure. 

Applicants are obliged to comply with the conditions of the admission procedure announced by the relevant faculty, which will issue a decision on the admission/non-admission of the student to study at the University of West Bohemia within the regular deadline. The student will be enrolled for study within the regular deadline only if they meet the conditions of the announced admission procedure (e.g., proof of recognition of previous education).

A student may be nominated for a scholarship under the Interstud project only by the Faculty participating in the project. Faculties will nominate students for the winter semester of the 2025/26 academic year in September 2025. 

PLEASE NOTE: In the 2025/26 academic year, scholarships can only be awarded for the winter semester, specifically for the period September-December 2025.

Rules for Interstud scholarship support

  • Students admitted to study in the 2025/26 academic year are eligible for the Interstud scholarship only in the winter semester and only in the period from September 2025 or from their enrollment in the program until December 2025.
  • First scholarship payment will be made in October at the earliest.
  • INTERSTUD scholarship support will be paid to students in the first year of their studies. 
    In the 2025/26 academic year will be paid to students in the winter semester only in the period from September or from the student's enrollment until December 2025.

    In subsequent periods, the scholarship may be paid by the specific faculty (depending on the faculty's decision).
  • The amount of the scholarship is CZK 8,000 per month for the period Septebemer - December 2025, the amount of the scholarship may then be adjusted (reduced / increased). The amount of the scholarship may be reduced (up to 0 - respectively, the scholarship may not be awarded) based on the decision of the Faculty.
  • The scholarship can only be paid on condition that the student is enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree study program for the first time.
