Interstud Scholarship Support 2026
The main aim of the INTERSTUD project at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen is to support talented foreign students. The project focuses primarily on students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds and students with specific needs.
Students included in the project (as decided by the faculty) will receive a special scholarship from the summer semester of their first year of study for the standard duration of their studies, provided they achieve the required academic results.
This scholarship support is OPEN to students who are admitted to full-time programs taught in the Czech language. Applicants from all over the world can apply for the project.
- The student is admitted for the first time to a bachelor's or master's (or master's) program at one of the faculties participating in the project.
- The study program to which the student is admitted is conducted in the Czech language.
- The student is nominated for the project by their home faculty on the basis of excellent academic results. The faculty nominates the student for the project based on its own selection and/or at the student's request.
- The student provides an officially certified document proving their eligibility for social assistance or a professional report from a diagnostic examination, or another document confirming their socio-economically disadvantaged environment or specific needs.
Only newly admitted students in full study programs (bachelor's, master's, follow-up master's) in the Czech language at faculties involved in the project can be nominated for INTERSTUD scholarship support:
- Faculty of Applied Sciences
- Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art
- Faculty of Economics
- Faculty of Electrical Engineering
- Faculty of Arts
- Faculty of Education
- Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
Starting in the 2025/26 academic year, students will be nominated for the INTERSTUD project by the individual faculties involved in the project.
Those interested in joining the Interstud project must successfully complete the winter semester of their first year of study, enter the summer semester, and submit an application to join the Interstud project.
The selection and nomination of students for the Interstud project is entirely within the competence of the relevant faculty and may be based on a student's application or a faculty decision.
A student may be nominated for a scholarship under the Interstud project only once by a faculty involved in the project and only within one study program (in the case of parallel studies of multiple programs or faculties).
Faculties nominate students for the summer semester of the 2025/26 academic year in February-March 2026.
- ELIGIBILITY
Students are eligible to participate in the Interstud project from the summer semester of their first year of study, based on nomination by their faculty. - DURATION OF SUPPORT
The maximum duration of support in a calendar year is 10 months (monthly scholarship payments).
Students participating in the Interstud project are eligible for a special Interstud scholarship as follows:
- in the summer semester of the first year of study: March – August
- in the winter semester of the second year of study: September–December - AMOUNT OF SUPPORT
The amount of the monthly scholarship is determined by the faculty. The amount of the scholarship may vary in individual semesters and years. Factors that influence the amount of the scholarship: academic results, socioeconomic situation, specific needs, etc.
The maximum amount of support is CZK 8,000/month.
The International Office reserves the right to limit the number of students based on available financial resources (in agreement with the faculties). - PAYMENT
The first scholarship payment will be made in March at the earliest.
INTERSTUD scholarship support is paid to students as follows:
- through the International Office in the calendar year 2026 in the form of a special scholarship (March–December)
- through their faculty from the summer semester of the second year
The faculty may adjust the amount of the special scholarship, in particular with regard to the student's academic results and other circumstances mentioned above. - APPLICATION
Students enrolled in the Interstud project are required to submit an application for scholarship support under the Interstud project to the study department of their faculty 7 days before the start of each subsequent semester of study (starting from the second year)
The scholarship can only be paid out if it is the first bachelor's or master's degree program in the Czech language.
