Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility

Since 2015, the Erasmus+ program has newly supported student and staff exchanges between universities and countries outside of Europe, with a priority on mobility towards program countries (i.e., towards Europe). Financial support, consisting of several partial budgets, can be allocated for student study stays and staff mobility.

Supported activities include:

  • Student mobility for study stays – lasting from 2 to 12 months
  • Staff mobility for teaching and training – with a minimum duration of 5 days and a maximum duration of 2 months

A higher education institution from a program country submits the application for funding of mobilities with partner countries to its respective national agency. The application is submitted once for the entire institution and may include mobilities to one or more regions. The application must meet formal criteria and will be further assessed according to the selection criteria set out in the Erasmus+ Program Guide and the Evaluators' Guide.

The institution from the program country must hold a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). Before the mobility, an inter-institutional agreement must be signed with the partner institution.

The project duration is 36 months.
